Bodycam Video Captures Double-Tap Bombing

Ukrainian national police have released bodycam footage documenting a Russian double-tap bomb strike in the village of Kamyshuvakha, located in the Zaporizhzhia region. The strikes hit a humanitarian aid center and an underground shelter, killing at least 40 people.

The footage was recorded by a camera worn by a police officer who was killed in the attack. It shows residents walking through debris following the initial strike on Monday near a local school used for distributing aid.

Details of the Attack and Rescue Efforts

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia dropped nine aerial glide bombs on the village, with some weighing up to 3,000 kilograms. Radio warnings alerted ground officers to additional incoming bombs, prompting police to direct civilians toward an underground shelter at least two floors deep.

Moments after residents entered, the shelter was hit by a subsequent strike, causing an explosion and heavy destruction that left a large crater. Emergency teams have been conducting search efforts for a third day. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that more than 30 people may still remain under the rubble.

Official Responses

President Zelensky noted that the initial attack hit civilians receiving aid, while the follow-up strike targeted arriving emergency responders and police officers. Zelensky condemned the attack as a war crime and noted that there has been very little international reaction to the incident.
